kaiken Kaiken Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 Argentina $10 15 wine reviewsAnyone remotely familiar with this blog knows that Cabernet Sauvignon is not usually the Wine Witch’s first choice.  So it is quite something when I am moved to give a Cab a 5 star rating.   I know there is a large price swing here.  I always try to locate the wine being reviewed in several parts of the country to get an idea and in this case the prices were all over the place.  At either end of the pricing, this is a great buy.

fridaymonkeywine Friday Monkey Chardonnay 2008 Australia 1.5 ml $11 14 wine reviewsWell Australia certainly loves its critters – Yellow Tail, Little Penguin, Black Swan, etc..  Here is the latest addition to the menagerie – Friday Monkey.  My personal theory is that Australians keep the really good stuff at home.  Some marketing genius has determined that Americans are suckers for critters, and therefore they have a distribution channel for their second tier wines.

torrontes2 Bodega Poesia Torrontes 2007 Argentina $10 wine reviewsBack to back 5 ratings – this is first for the Wine Witch.  I love, love, LOVE this wine.  Torrontes is a white wine from Argentina.  It is a very distinctive wine you are either going to love or hate.  Torrontes is a very aromatic, fresh wine with lots of flavors going on.
