I am approaching this post from a particular bias.  Sauvignon Blanc is my favorite white varietal.  There is such a range of flavors you can get from this grape – from grassy to lush tropical fruit to lively critus.  What most of them have in common is that they are very fresh and approachable.  However, if you are new to this grape, picking out a bottle from the hundreds of choices out there can be a little overwhelming.

Here is a Wine Witch top tip – you cannot go wrong with a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, especially if you like your whites on the citrusy end of the spectrum.  I have probably tried several dozen from different labels at a range of price points.  While as with anything there were some I liked better than others, there was not a bad one in the bunch.  Most of them are in the $10-$15 range.  So if you like fresh and fruity whites and are faced with a wine list or a long aisle of choices in the wine shop, reach for a N. Z. S. B..  Mission accomplished.

I will be posting some reviews of my favorites over the next few days so stay tuned.

Cheers!
