lexia Alice White Lexia 2008 Australia $7 wine reviewsFirst of all the Wine Witch is completely shocked that she liked this wine.  It is definitely sweet – along the lines of a Reisling.  What saves it is that it finishes quite crisp and not at all cloying.  You see the price tag above – really cheap.  Last but not least it is only 10% alcohol.

The 2008 Alice White Lexia is made from the Muscat grape – hence the sweetness.  It has a very aromatic floral nose – honeysuckle and orange blossoms.  The flavor profile is VERY ripe peaches and apricots with a little honey.  There is a bit of lime at the end.  The overall effect is very light and refreshing.  It’s just yummy.

Alice White Lexia would go well with light fruit deserts or temper the fires of Thai food.  I think I would like it best by itself on the back porch on a summer afternoon.  This is also one for the fans of White Zin to consider.
