By and large I have enjoyed most Red Truck wines. These are not great wines, but they are very reliable, will not break the bank, and will cause you no embarassment when served. Over the weekend my son shared a bottle of the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon he received as a host gift. He was not too thrilled. I found it a pleasant wine.
I would not call it a typical California Cab. It is not the rockem sockem style you often associate with the genre. Again, pleasant is the word I keep coming back to. It is a nice ruby in the glass. The nose is pretty light but I eventually got a bit of vanilla and blackberry. The Red Truck Cab has a medium mouthfeel and not a lot of edges. What I mostly got was black cherry jam with a touch of cloves. On the way out the vanilla comes back with a touch of black tea.
The 2007 Red Truck Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine you probably would not turn down, but you probably would not spend a lot of energy looking for it.
