Sebastiani is one of the iconic names of California winemaking. The 2004 Sonoma County Merlot is one of their best.
While the wine is 76% Merlot, it is blended with a handful of other grapes which give it some unique character – uniqueness being missing in many Merlots. The nose is cranberry, which the Wine Witch really cannot remember experiencing before. Black, black cherry on the tongue along with some notes of toast and tea. This Merlot has a very velvety texture.
For a few dollars more than usual, this is a super Merlot choice that will be sure to impress.
